Project Management

A Project Manager is essential to ensure successful completion of a project. They are there for our customer every step of the way. Through open communication with our customer we can understand their needs and come up with a creative solution. Coordination with our team and closely monitoring progress is essential to achieving the customers' goals and keep a project moving through the Oxbow process

Mechanical

One of our primary competencies at Oxbow is mechanical engineering. Our strength is centered on our ability to take top priority projects with a high level of technical complexity from any point in the project through production launch. Our staff is trained to be effective problem solvers, creative innovators, analytical in our approach, detail focused, and team oriented. We feel strongly that we can take on any challenge, and it is through our methods, our staff, and our passion for what we do that we can persevere and arrive upon simplistic solutions for the most difficult design problems.
Some of our core competencies include:
  • Stress Analysis
  • Finite Element Analysis
  • Feasability Studies

Electric and Pneumatic

Our controls engineering group understands that a good solution starts with a good design. We'll sit down with you and dive deep into your application for a complete understanding. Whether you know exactly what you want, or you need some guidance, tell us your automation and controls needs and we'll leverage our years of experiences.
  • AutoCAD based electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Programming support on numerous HMI & PLC platforms
  • Experts in PLCs, HMIs, Servo/Stepper Drives, Electric Actuators, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Encoders

R.A.M.S.

As with any piece of equipment a good reliability and maintainability plan is necessary to assure that all components are used to their full potential. Here at Oxbow we adhere to the R.A.M.S methodology with all our industrial equipment.
  • Reliability is a products or systems ability to perform a specific function and may be given as design reliability or operational reliability
  • Availability is the ability of a system to be kept in a functioning state
  • Maintainability is determined by the ease with which the product or system can be repaired or maintained
  • Safety is the requirement not to harm people, the environment, or any other assets during a systems life cycle

Ergonomics

Utilizing the scientific disciplines of ergonomics we recognize that work methods, facilities, equipment and designs influence the efficiency and fatigue factors of the individual worker.
An ergonomic assessment will be provided consisting of:
  • ErgoPlus Analysis
  • Ergonomic Checklist
  • Force Assessment

Safety

A primary focus in all tooling design and construction is the factor of safety. We will meet or exceed even the most stringent safety requirements.
To assure this factor of safety is met, the following documentation will be supplied:
  • Safety Checklist
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Operations & Maintenance Manual

The maintenance manual provided will describe the equipment and its operation from maintenance & safety through "trouble shooting".
Each manual will contain the following information:
  • Mechanical Drawings
  • Electrical, Pneumatic, & Hydraulic Drawings
  • Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Recommended Spare Parts List
  • All Programming (where applicable)

Manufacturing

Manufacturing & Final Assembly Process

All mechanical details will be fabricated, machined, assembled, and inspected verifying the detail and assembly prints. All controls details will be laid out, assembled, and inspected verifying the panel layout and schematic prints. It is during this phase of the process that mechanical and controls come together as one. Through “debug” and “tune in” the project will be verified to meet the expected requirements for design intent and functionality.
To assure compliance with these items, the following documentation will be supplied with each piece of equipment:
  • Mechanical Inspection Checklist
  • Controls Inspection Checklist

Oxbow Guarantee

Oxbow is confident in our craftsmanship and we stand behind our products. We have proven designs that stand the test of time under the harshest conditions. Our team is available to help you use the product for its intended use. If issues arise with the approved design we will assess the problem and offer solutions. Our guarantee is limited to mechanical defects and unusual wear. We are willing and able to work with our commercial item manufacturers to ensure the correct product has been provided.

On-Site Service

Installation/Monitoring

During install we work with our customers’ personnel for proper set-up of tooling on-site. There are many moving parts during an install. We train personnel on the intended use and operation of tooling. Feedback from the operators is essential to ensure the success of the tool.
Other functions of an install are:
  • Tracking cycle times
  • Tuning in tooling
  • Software adjustments for controls
  • Monitoring the effectiveness and safety of tooling

Emergency Response

Our seasoned technicians are on standby. We are able to respond rapidly and effectively to issues and failures.
